I stayed here for four days during January 2020 and it was one of my most memorable experiences in life. I love mountains and nature and couldn't have asked for more. Both Maan Singh and his wife are wonderful hosts. As I was alone I ate with the family. I felt completely at home. I took short walks through the village and also hiked to the river where I had tea. It felt like heaven drinking tea on the rooftop in the morning watching the snow covered mountains. I also camped at night under the brilliant star studded sky. I will certainly keep returning here - Ms Rupali Dagar, New Delhi

My husband and I stayed for three days and it was one of my most memorable trips to Himachal ever. We both love hiking and Maan Singh pretty much knows everything around the place. He and his wife both are super nice and cordial hosts. The home stay is beautiful, ideally located away from the road hence very peaceful. The rooms are big and airy and full of natural light. Our best moments were sipping tea on the roof watching the snow covered mountains. We had looked at other home stays in Kareri but we finally decided to stay with Maan Singh because of the peaceful location, the amazing hosts and the rooms with attached modern bathroom all at highly affordable price. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Kareri. We will surely return again. These are poor people, please tip generously – Dr Neeru Chawla, New Delhi

They sheltered us during a raging storm and thundering downpour as we reached Kareri. Me and my girlfriend wanted to hike to the lake and Maan Singh organized everything for us and we spend a week in the area, out of which we stayed at the home stay for three nights. The host couple is very friendly and we communicated well through sign language and some words of English. The rooms are really nice, and offer spectacular views of the green fields and rolling hills. We had meals in the kitchen with them. We loved the attached bathroom, and I think this is the best option in the village. All other guest houses we saw had separate common bathrooms. Beautiful experience – Nora and Roberts, USA

I booked two rooms as I came with my family and driver. My kids camped outside. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable with modern attached bathrooms, big windows offering great views and plenty of natural light. My driver was offered free accommodation. We ate at a nearby restaurant as this home stay doesn’t offer food for large groups. I wanted to have a quiet holiday in the hills and this home stay was perfect for my family. We took plenty of short walks in and around the village and my kids even bathed in the waterfall pool. I lead a very busy stressful corporate life as does my wife and for us this was the perfect getaway. I have now been here twice already – Mr. Ramesh, Chandigarh

Beautiful family home. We ate all our meals with the host family, very sweet and accommodating. We all became friends. Basic amenities, as described. All vegetables are grown in their garden, we bought some homemade ghee (clarified butter) as well. Quiet, peaceful, safe - Samarth Karwal

If you guys need some nature and adventure in your life, I know a perfect place for you! Kareri is a gorgeous village filled with spectacular scenic views, vibrant culture and charming people. We highly recommend this homestay. Maan singhji and his wife maskoji are extremely kind, hospitable and will instantly make you feel homely. All our needs were fulfilled. We requested them for participating in daily routine, and they kindly let us assist them in milking cows, farming activities, preparing food and many more fun activities. We also did yoga and star gazing at night. This experience was fun filled. - Pranita, Mumbai

Away from the bustling town of Dharamshala/McLeod Ganj, one is sure to come back to this place. The owner, Mann Singh ji took us through a short hike (approx 6kms) to his homestay from Satobari. The room & washroom cleanliness were impeccable. The best part were the serene surroundings and the food which was 100% homemade. Thanks to Mann Singh ji's wife who plucked mustard leaves in the afternoon in front of us while we had tea and served it in dinner, that's real "Farm to Table". She also let me chop some wood for the winter with an axe, which ended up being a funny experience considering the weight of the axe and my weak grip strength. Also the night sky was amazing standing on the rooftop. If one has got time on their hands then the owner Mann Singh can help you gear up for Kareri lake trek and Lam dal lake trek. All in all this place is highly recommended. - Ankur
